FAQ
The questions buyers actually ask, in the order they usually come up.
What is a mirror, exactly?
Another front door to the same shop. The market's data lives behind the onion; a mirror is a separate .onion address that points at the same backend. Accounts, listings, escrow, all shared. When one door is blocked or slow, the other doors work. The first Awazon mirror, awazoneqkwtrk5ylid5aammako4zc4qz2lvo4n47t62isvnet63usaid.onion, and its two siblings are three doors to one shop.
Why does a market have several of them?
Because a seized relay, a DDOS, or a routine key rotation can close one door without closing the shop. Markets that run several in parallel, like TorZon with its five, treat addresses as infrastructure, not branding. The second TorZon mirror, evwigej45n3nywbn3aqdun4o6cgjyfgxf2ts7lm6no3uotxanpeuosad.onion, opens the same shop as the first.
A mirror is slow. What now?
Reload once; Tor builds a new circuit on every reload, and a bad circuit is the most common cause. If the reload fails, open the next mirror from the list; on the Nexus page that is nexusb2l7jnnbmofyik5fqdemwg6inbg4e3i2pi75uewuw34zwvx2ryd.onion. If every mirror fails, check the address characters before you check anything else.
Which coin should I use?
Monero for the least metadata, Bitcoin for the most vendor support. Every market on this page takes XMR; eight of the nine take BTC. There is no wrong answer, only tradeoffs.
What is escrow?
The order's coins held by a neutral setup until you confirm delivery. You pay into escrow, not to the vendor. Confirm, and the vendor is paid. Dispute, and the market's side of the multisig decides. The escrow is the entire reason a stranger's shop is shoppable. At Osiris the design is pushed further: the escrow address belongs to the order, not to the market, so the first Osiris mirror's shop has no central float at all.
What is a vendor bond?
Collateral a vendor locks up before selling. It pays the dispute when the vendor does not. A shop where vendors post bonds is a shop where the vendors have something to lose.
How long does shipping take?
Depends on the vendor, the route, and the customs in between. Physical goods commonly run a few days to three weeks. Digital goods clear in minutes. The vendor's profile says more than any page can, so read it.
Can the market see my IP?
The market sees the Tor exit it happens to be behind, not your machine. That is what the onion is for. Running a VPN under Tor changes which exit you get, which is enough for some people and does not replace the address check, which still happens first.
A clearnet site asks for my market password.
It is not the market. The shop runs on Tor, the password belongs to the shop's login form, and no legitimate page outside the onion needs it. Close the tab.
Do I need a VPN on top of Tor?
Optional. The onion traffic is already inside Tor's circuit. A VPN only matters for the part of your traffic that is not.
Is the login different on every market?
The shape is the same: account, password, escrow, confirm. The details move: PGP 2FA is the login at BlackOps, a fingerprint captcha at Nexus, a withdrawal PIN at Crown and TorZon. The guide walks the first login; each market page walks its own.
Still stuck
The address is on the full mirror list, the first visit is on the guide, and the check is on the verify page. If the question is "is this specific address the real one", the answer is on the market's page, under the signature.
